The kids have been outside loving the beautiful weather these past few days. We’ve enjoyed time at Wascana Lake feeding the birds, going for walks, and cooling down with popsicles.

It was a busy day with the summer program! The kids had lots of fun holding and looking at the different animals at Petland Regina yesterday afternoon.

Many thanks to Shawna and White Pony Lodge, Open Sky Retreat, Archie, and the sponsors and volunteers for the Horse Dance ceremony we co-sponsored over the weekend! Perfect weather for the camping and for the feast and ceremony on Saturday. Many thanks to the National Indian Brotherhood Trust Fund for their support of the cultural program at NCFC.

Saturday’s 5k was so much fun for all of us. Big thank yous to Alliance Energy (Cam, Jan, Daryl, Dustin and Ron), Dream staff, RPS (Desiree Mills), and Shawn and the lovely QCM folks! Thank you as well to our nursing students who came and helped out with registration and prizes, and thank you to all the youth and families who joined in the walk! We love seeing so many different groups from our community and city come together for this event to promote healthy lifestyles and positive relationships :) Thank you so much to all of the volunteers and families!

Thank you as well to the Leader-Post for this story:

We want to send a huge thank you to Cassie, Community School Coordinator, and Maria, Grade 6 teacher, for being selected as the recipient of their Language Arts unit project. The topic of their project was community involvement and as their culminating activity, they decided to make care packages for youth and adults in Regina. The Grade 6 students made the care packages with toys, books and toiletries for youth and adults. We will be handing these out to our families and we truly appreciate the gift. We also appreciate so much how schools take on the task of getting youth involved in giving back. Together we are all stronger!
